The Review

Number one on our list of the best ready assembled chest of drawers goes to this 6 drawer set from Rosdorf Park. The Norman 6 Drawer Chest of Drawers offers a beautiful contemporary design made from wood and glass with a mirror effect finish.

Having seen pictures of the chest of drawers, we weren’t really sure what to expect with the finish of the drawers themselves, but the mirror effect looks even better in person than it does in pictures. It looks incredibly modern whilst remaining elegant.

One of the things that we were really impressed with is the amount of space in each of the drawers. We had no trouble filling them completely with clothes and were really surprised with how much we were able to store. Another thing that we liked is how smoothly the drawers glide out.

The frame of this chest of drawers is very durable indeed and it is clear to see that it has been constructed from high-quality wood. The only thing that we will say is that the handles could have been a little bigger for higher levels of durability.

Overall, this is a very modern design so if you are looking for something to stand out in your bedroom then this chest of drawers is definitely for you.

 

2. Fairmont Park Aldeburgh 5 Drawer Chest of Drawers

Features: Wood & Glass – Mirror Effect Finish – 5 Drawers – Brass Colour Handles – 110cm H x 82cm W x 36cm D – 45kg

Pros:

• Nice contrast between the silver coloured glass and brass handles.
• Traditional design but would still look good in a modern bedroom.
• Very solid build.

Cons:

• The chest of drawers is quite bulky.
• The overall finish could be a little better.

The Review

The design of the Adeburgh 5 Drawer Chest of Drawers is slightly different to the number one on our list. With this one, you still get the wooden frame and mirror finish but it is quite different. We feel that this one has more of a traditional design which may appeal to more people.

With this one, there are 5 drawers all of which are plenty big enough for storing clothes. Like the previous model, one of the things that did impress us with this one was how smoothly the drawers glide in and out.

Although it is a more traditional design, we still felt that this ready assembled chest of drawers would look good in a more modern bedroom. The contrast between the mirror effect finish and the brass colour is lovely and really makes this unit stand out.

There were only a couple of drawbacks worth noting with this one. First of all, we feel that the finish could have been a little better, especially when it comes to the brass colouring. As well as this, we did feel that the unit may be a little too bulky for smaller bedrooms. Overall, though, it is a lovely unit.

 

3. Fairmont Park Aldeburgh 3 Drawer Chest of Drawers

Features: Wood & Glass – Mirror Effect Finish – 3 Drawers – White Panels – 89cm H x 103cm W x 50cm D – 60kg

Pros:

• Great mix of vintage and modern design.
• White panels are a nice contrast with the mirror effect.
• The handles look really nice.

Cons:

• The chest of drawers is quite expensive.
• There are only three drawers.

The Review

This one also comes from Fairmont Park and is from the same range that we reviewed with the previous product. However, this one is quite different in design. The thing that really made this ready assembled chest of drawers stand out to us was the way in which the design is a lovely mixture of vintage and modern.

With white wooden panels and a glass mirror effect finish, the entire unit looks lovely. Another thing that we really liked with this one is the handles on the drawer. Whilst they are small, the brass colouring looks fantastic. The unit itself is solidly built and feels like it has been built to last.

There are, however, a couple of drawbacks that are worth noting. First of all, there is the cost. Considering the fact that this is quite a small unit, it is quite expensive. The materials that it is made out of are of a high quality, but it could be better value for money.

As well as this, there is the fact that there are only three drawers available. This is fine for a single person who will also be using a wardrobe, but for a couple it is not going to offer enough space. However, if you live alone and want something to go with your wardrobe that is high quality and looks great, this chest of drawers is certainly worth considering.

 

4. Laurel Foundry Addie 5 Drawer Chest of Drawers

Features: Wood – Natural Finish – Metal Handles – 5 Drawers – 104.14cm H x 43cm W x 33cm D – 19.36kg

Pros:

• Slim design so it is perfect if you are lacking space.
• Looks great in both traditional and modern bedrooms.
• Solid, sturdy design.

Cons:

• There isn’t much space in the drawers themselves.
• There isn’t much space on top of the unit to place anything.

The Review

Because we know that some people have very small bedroom spaces, we decided that we would add a more compact design to our list of reviews and chose this one from Laurel Foundry. We have to say that we were actually really impressed with the Addie 5 Drawer Chest of Drawers.

To start off with, we really liked the slim design. As we have already mentioned, some people lack space in their bedroom so a standard chest of drawers isn’t going to be suitable. This one, however, is quite tall so it works better in small spaces.

It is made from solid wood and certainly feels very sturdy. The metal handles offer a great contrast and there are 5 drawers to use. The only downsides that are worth mentioning is that there is not much space in the drawers themselves and there isn’t much space to place anything on top of the unit.

However, if you are lacking space and you want a chest of drawers that is solid and affordable then the Addie from Laurel Foundry is certainly worth taking a look at.

 

5. Brambly Cottage Rosie 5 Drawer Chest of Drawers

Features: Fibre Board with Melamine Veneer – White – Metal Runners – 5 Drawers – 107.5cm H x 76.5cm W x 41.5cm D – 41kg

Pros:

• Very basic design so it fits most decors.
• The drawers glide very smoothly.
• Plenty of drawer space.

Cons:

• Quite expensive for a basic design.
• The design itself is quite plain.

The Review

We decided that we would also add a basic design to our list and chose this one from Brambly Cottage. Constructed from high quality fibre board with melamine veneer, we were actually really impressed with how well constructed this ready assembled chest of drawers is. It certainly feels very sturdy.

One of the other things that impressed us with this one is how much space there is in each of the five drawers. We managed to store plenty of clothes in each. The drawers glide very smoothly too, which is another plus point.

The only issues that we had with this one is that it is quite a plain design, so it might not be for everybody. The white colour is quite bright too; possibly too bright for some decors. As well as this, we felt that the unit was a little expensive for something so basic.

However, if you are looking for a chest of drawers that is solid and not too fancy then this is definitely one to take a look at.
